Great Guns filmmaker Calum Macdiarmid teamed up with comedian Romesh Ranganathan for suicide prevention charity CALM

Calum Macdiarmid directed his second spot with the suicide prevention charity CALM previously working on the #TellaMate spot, this time he’s teamed up with the very moody but witty comedian Romesh Ranganathan for ‘Stay Calm’. The new film presents itself as a grandiose Hollywood superhero film that unexpectedly veers into a comedic reality with Romesh's blunt and hilarious persona.

Calum brings his cinematic and emotive filmmaking to the comedic and witty script, that’s made even better by the blunt Romesh and his unique brand of dry comedy.

Calum had this to say - “This campaign was a fantastic opportunity to craft a narrative that felt compelling and intriguing before turning it all upside down with the introduction of Romesh and his blunt Crawley accent," said Macdiarmid. "He was great on set - though he first explained he'd been bundled into a car by his agent and didn't know what he was doing there. With these kinds of projects, I find the best thing you can do is simply make the film as funny as it can possibly be, worrying less about the darkness of the subject matter, but knowing that if you can make the film entertaining it will do some good for the world.”
