Amy Becker Burnett directs Again for Matilda Cole

Again by singer Matilda Cole documents the trials and tribulations of young love, from the little beautiful intimate moments to the boring claustrophobic arguments that can often slip into routine events. Director Amy Becker Burnett plays around with the ideas of delusion and happiness that can often consume relationships. The music video dances with 1960s French New Wave imagery with a modern pop gloss that bursts off the screen.

Amy’s direction is the perfect companion piece for Matilda’s music, matching the lyrics with simple but effective images that come together to tell a well balanced and straightforward story of a couple going through the ups and downs of a relationship.

Amy had this to say: “I wanted to make this feel like a fragmented memory, flickering between feelings of content and conflict, playing with the idea of delusional happiness and delusion itself. The whole aesthetic was based on old 60's films, a world I created in collaboration with my art director and sister Grace Becker-Burnett with nostalgic details borrowed from vintage annuals and magazines we used to look at growing up.”

Amy is no stranger to directing music videos and this isn’t her first collaboration with Matilda Cole, she also shot ‘Halloween’ and ‘The Clouds' and has also collaborated with Natalie Imbruglia. With each film she directs she brings the same energetic enthusiasm with lush colours and flawless filmmaking techniques.
